Why square shaped city easy to remember?
This is my real experience dude, one week ago I accompany my aunt to a big (enough) city in Indonesia named Purwokerto, and actually I never go there after about 9 years ago he he :D. Then I’m looking around the city, and going to biggest bus station there, I don’t care what do you think about this, I’m so late or not to realize that this city is NOT square shaped. No ring road like Jogjakarta or other cities in Indonesia, ring road commonly built surround a big city as inter-province bus way. For example Jogjakarta, this city has ring road surrounding on it, but Purwokerto. I don’t know why square shaped city easy to remember.
It’s true if I go to a big city with square looks on the map, I can easily remember some street’s names inside it, also some locations which I always go there is easily to remember, for example is my ex campus location, I can easily imagine where’s that. It means I can show you my ex campus on the city map with right direction on it. How about you? Please share your experience that probably similar with this, back to foto gaul home.
